Setting Goals for Self Growth

In life, we often have goals that we want to reach. Sometimes they’re minor like not walking into a phone pole around your favorite day trip spot. Other times, it’s more thought-provoking, like opening a small business or growing a spiritual practice. It doesn’t matter what it is, setting goals for self-growth is just one piece of a much larger puzzle. This week, let’s talk about how to set these goals and how to work towards achieving them!

Setting Goals for Self Growth

I don’t want to tell you all what goals to set That’s not what this post is about. It’s about encouraging you to set your own goals. What I DO want to do is give you a few tips on how to achieve whatever goal you have for yourself.

Set Your Goals For Self Growth

The first thing is to set the goals that you want to achieve. This can take so many fun forms. It could be to go for a dream you’ve always had, it could be getting a better education or even a fun goal like doing a side hustle and seeing it succeed. Keep in mind, when it comes to goals, it’s important to make them both lofty and achievable. However, it’s not always that easy. It takes conscious thought and work. It does NOT mean it can’t be done. Set those goals and be ready to run after them!

Think of these goals as a sort of “bucket list”. Write them down, create a vision board, or do whatever you want to do that will make the goals real. Don’t forget to make them achievable too! The last thing you want to do is set a goal that’s too out of the park only to have it not work out and then feel like you weren’t successful. It won’t help your mental state when you reach for other important goals. In short, make your goals for self growth ones that you are pretty damn sure you will be able to achieve!

Check out one of my entries about Living Your Best Life. That will be a great companion to this week’s entry! Additionally, I found a wonderful article on personal development goals here. Definitely check it out!

That’s it for this week! Until next time, be well and namaste!

  1. In my younger years, goal setting wasn’t something I practiced. Thankfully, I’ve learned the importance of doing so, but find setting a few small goals at a time really works best for me. Doing so really has been beneficial to my personal growth.

Yes, small goals are the best because you can notch up “little wins” and it helps you keep making more goals to go for 🙂 Thank you so much for stopping into the Grotto! Have a wonderful week 🙂
