Let’s Talk About Motivation

This week, let’s talk about motivation. It’s not always an easy virtue to maintain, especially when life throws some curveballs our way. Let’s face it, no one is going to have motivation all the time. It’s just not going to happen. That’s expected and more importantly, it’s okay!

Why did I choose this topic for this week? To put it bluntly, my motivation has been going up and down lately. No sugarcoating it necessary. I bring my brutal truth to this blog now more than ever. I do though to help you, the reader know that you’re not alone in whatever fight you’re going through. That’s how I roll.

So what can you do when you find motivation lacking? It depends on you. I’ve always said that what you do to make your life the best it can be is up to you. No one can tell you exactly what will work best for you. What I do like to do is give some tips and ideas. Take with it what you resonate with and leave the rest.

Let’s Talk About Motivation Exercises You Can Do!

  • Journal about the issues affecting your motivation. This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who’s been following this blog for a while. I love the idea of journaling to get stuff out of my mind.
  • Exercise-Simply put, get moving. It can mean a walk, dancing, even more intimate things if you wish. Lately, I’ve been using virtual exercise challenges from Conqueror Events and it’s been a game changer. You do virtual challenges and at the end, you get a medal for your efforts! It is a paid thing but so helpful for me. Check it out here!
  • Talk things out with a partner, family member, or friend. This is often the easiest way to help lift your motivation. Just make sure that it’s someone you trust and can be completely honest with. That’s super important.
  • Ask yourself the tough questions. What is causing issues with motivation? Are you unhappy? Are you bored? Is it something else entirely? Figuring that out will go a long way to helping you figure our how to get your motivation back!

That list was just a sampling of what you can do. I’ve done them myself and they DO help me. I believe they will help you too. Find out what may work for you and try it. While you’re at it, check out last week’s entry about losing steam. It’s something that goes hand in hand with motivation.

Until next week. Be well and namaste!
