This week I want to talk about inspiration. I’ve been out of a job for almost two months but I’ve been inspired by my time off. I wanted to share some of that with you today!
Since being let go back in October, I’ve gone through the roller coaster of emotions. I was frustrated, sad, angry, and even numb for a while. Being in this position again was not what I was planning on since I had been working so hard. All that to say I was looking for ways to mentally escape. Thank goodness I’m a writer and content creator! It helped give me some inspiration.
As a writer, November was a perfect time to be available to write. Each year there is NanoWrimo which is National Novel Writing Month. During the month of November you write a 50k word novel by the end of the month. It’s a fun, and unique challenge. You can read more about that here. I finished super early in the month and to be honest, I’m only half satisfied with how it came out. I’m going to make some MAJOR cuts and changes. I digress though. The inspiration of NanoWrimo is always fun to dive into.
In addition to writing as inspiration, I also love doing my podcast! It can be found on Spotify and all other Podcast channels. This has been a fantastic way to share my thoughts that don’t always fit here at the blog. In fact, I used to call the podcast The Holistic Grotto Podcast, after this blog but realized a while back that I was going in different directions so I changed the title to Rambles With Rob. When I share a new episode with my few listeners, I hope I inspire them to do great things!
Where I Find Inspiration
I find inspiration in so many places. It could be walking in the city, reading a book, writing, or just relaxing. It’s so important to me that I am more present lately. This is especially true with my ADHD diagnosis and the anxiety that I also am working though. (I don’t like to use the word “suffering”). I’ve found that doing this has helped me get some additional inspiration and ability to do even more at times. It’s a great feeling!
So there you have it. Some of the ways I’ve been inspired by my time off! Each week I look for new roles but at the end of the day, I love being inspired by life and the situations around me. I’m even going to try and learn some coding in 2024 and finish a few courses that I keep picking up and putting back down. Inspiration is a wonderful way to accomplish goals because without it, you can stagnate and that’s not a recipe for growth!
Until next week. Be well and namaste!
