Wow, we are almost there again. It’s nearly the holiday season so this week, I want to talk about holiday self-care and why it’s so important. When we do not keep self-care in mind during the holiday season, it can and often does lead to burn out. This is going to be a shorter post but I hope you get something wonderful from it!

Since the holidays are always more stressful, keeping an eye on your emotions, thoughts, and words towards yourself is important. The truth is that when the sun starts to set earlier, sometimes our sense of self can go with it. Here are a few tips for the holiday season.
Holiday Self-Care Tips
- Set aside time each day for yourself
- Write it out
- Get some exerciese
- Rely on your support systems
- Finally, give yourself permission to say no when you need to
Even though the tips I just gave are pretty good, they are not an exhaustive list.
You’re probably asking yourself if self-care is even possible during this time of year. The short answer is yes! The trick is to find what will work for you and go with it! One thing I left of the list above, and I can’t believe it is meditation. Using the practice of meditation to ground yourself and keep centered is something I will always recommend to you.
Something else to keep in mind with the change of seasons and this time of year is that when things get tough, you are still able to get through the season. Find your center and give yourself permission to just be sometimes. In fact, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to just take some alone time. This will let you figure out how to best keep going during one of the most stressful times of the year.
To sum it up, don’t forget to plug in some self-care time during this holiday season. It may be the easiest way to make sure they are as fun and give the recharging ability that I firmly believe they’re meant to give
