From Mindless to Mindful

From Mindless to Mindful
Mindfulness at the core

What happens when technology takes over your life? That’s a question I’ve been asking myself lately because it seems like I am connected to it nearly 24/7. This has made being mindful much more difficult than I ever though possible. Today, I want to talk about how to go from mindless to mindful.

It’s pretty easy to get lost in all the distractions of our lives. From technology, to work, and sometimes even daily chores. That usually means that we go from mindful to mindless. We get into the routine of life and then it becomes difficult to take time to really enjoy it! To figure out how to get out of mindlessness may seem daunting, but it can be done.

Ways to Go From Mindless to Mindful

Try to get yourself into a mindset of mindfulness first thing in the morning. This can help take you to a place that’s better for you and those you love.

Stop and see what is truly distracting you. Figure out what parts of your day feel the most mindless and then try to fit a mindful moment into them.

Look for ways to incorporate the mindful into the everyday. What I mean by this is to look for ways to do even the most mundane tasks in a more mindful way.

Once you figure out how to change your mindset, it can be easier to go from mindless to mindful. I would suggest doing just one of the three suggestions above, to start. Trying to change things too drastically can lead to not being able to stick with it. It’s not going to be easy. I’m not going to sprinkle unicorn poop and tell you that it is. What I can say is that if you put in the effort, you will see shifts in yourself, your mindset, and also the environment around you.

My challenge for you this week is to find one daily task that you can be more mindful of and focus on that. Take it slow, but with deliberate action. Be intentional about it. In a word, be more mindful about it. Here’s a quick meditation on mindfulness. It’s one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it too!

  1. I like your points! I agree with just picking one thing for each week to focus on. Start small. All those little habits add up! Thanks for sharing!
