Finding the time For Meditation

Hey folks! Let’s be real and just put out there that time is flying by. We either have the time, or we don’t. This week, I want to share and talk about how we can go about finding the time for our mediation journey! Meditation is just part of what we showcase here in the grotto, but it’s an important part. Finding the time for meditation. That’s a tough one.

One of the most common misconceptions when it comes to meditation is that the time needs to be some exorbitant amount. It doesn’t. As little as 5 minutes can be enough, if that’s all you can muster on a given day. There will be times where you can do more, or sometimes less. That’s okay too. It’s just about making (or finding) the time.

I think we should think about it for a moment. There are 24 hours in a day. Eight of those are spent sleeping, and another eight to ten are spent working or commuting, leaving eight hours to fit in your practice. What if I told you that you could do a 20-minute meditation while cooking dinner, or putting the kids to bed? Yes, the simple act of doing everyday things can be a form of meditation. That means you will always have time. In fact, check out my blog post from last month that talked about meditation for productivity. It fits perfectly!

Finding the Time

When it comes to our mediation practice, self care, or even our mindfulness, it’s important to find the time. Here’s a good list from mindful.org that lists just a few ways to regain that time you think you don’t have. I think the most direct, and answer is to just meditate. It sounds so simple, but it is indeed, the most profound. The trick is to just do what you need to do and reclaim that time. Remember, it’s all about finding the time for meditation!

Well, that’s it for this week. I know this was a shorter entry but I don’t like to overstay my welcome on your time. Until next week. Be well and namaste!
