Merry almost Christmas, folks! For those of us who have iPhones, they just released a new update and it was big. Part of the update was a new app that I want to review for you all. It’s Apple’s new journaling app!
I’ve been using the app for a week or so now and as someone who loves to journal, it’s a bit of a game changer. For those of us who love to journal, it’s not really mind blowing. It’s a very basic app but that’s kind of what makes it so nice. I love to write in a paper journal. In fact, it’s one of the easiest things for me to do as well as the most satisfying.
That’s not to say using an app is a bad alternative. In fact, I am of the opinion that having both and using both is more helpful than just one avenue. So, onto the review of the app.
The general consensus is that people like it but do eventually want more from it. Even though the app does have prompts to guide you if you need it, there can always been more improvements made. Here’s a great article on the new app. Check it out!
General Review of Apple’s Journaling App
Like I said, the app is super basic. You can type out journal entries and add photos. I don’t think Apple was looking to necessarily change the game here, at least not yet. They wanted to get an app out that I believe people had been asking for over the years. To be fair, apps are not easy to create so starting out small was probably the best thing to do.
So there you have it, a bit of a review of Apple’s new journaling app. I like the simplicity of it but I want to see more come from it such as being able to add video. I also would love to see the ability to voice add entries at some point. Knowing Apple, they’ll take all the feedback and improve the app over time. They’re quite good at that.
In the meantime, check out another post from October. It’s full of prompts to get you started with journaling. Until next week, be well and namaste!
