5 Tips to Grow in 2023

Happy New Year! I can’t believe we’re already a few days in. I’m so pumped for this new year and ways to grow, as a person and otherwise. I want to share 5 tips to grow in 2023.

When you look for ways to grow, look at more than just one aspect of your life. For example, I try to make strides in my mental, physical, and spiritual development. These are usually the top 3 for most, but not all.

Here are my 5 tips to grow in 2023:

  • Look at where you succeeded last year and add to that success.
  • Figure out where you may need or want to succeed this year and go for it! You may find a way to get to the finish line before you know what happened!
  • Take risks! Yes, go out and do something that’s so out of your comfort zone that it scares the shit out of you. Join that gym class, take that new course in basket weaving. Hell, join that dating site that you’ve been looking at for the last 2 years! Make memories!

Growth Happens!
  • Set your goals. You’d think this would have been on the top of the list but nope. I didn’t want to be THAT predictable lol 😂 Write your goals down and set timeframes to reach them. As you do, write down what got you to that point. Be accountable to yourself and your growth.
  • Finally, just do the things! As I said a moment ago, set the goals and go after them. Each time you go after what you want, you grow. That’s the point, right? So go get it!

Growth is never easy. To say it takes work is an understatement. Star Trek is a great example of what one (or many) can do, if they’re willing to take risks, step outside their comfort zone, and ultimately grow. The Federation was all about growing and expanding, sometimes to their detriment but in the end, the series shows that the growth was worth it. To paraphrase that amazing show, boldly go where no man (or woman) has gone before. Seek out new things.

As we close for this week, check out why I don’t make new years resolutions. I think it will be MOST helpful to you as you set your growth goals for 2023! Until next time, be well and namaste!

This was all really good advise! I have the generic ’new years resolutions’ list, but not a realistic way of achieving them. Not that any of them are difficult or anything! But your post has definitely given me a clearer map to follow. Thank you so much for sharing these with us!

    1. Hi Whitney!

You are more than welcome. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. You’re right, the generic resolutions are NOT realistic. I think it becomes a “tradition” to make these resolutions but with no clear map to succeed, you just won’t 🙂 Actionable goals is a much more realistic approach.

  2. Great post! Getting on and doing the things is key! It sounds so obvious but I’ve been so guilty of being stuck in the “planning” stage and not actually getting on with the things lol!

    1. Hi Katherine! Thank you for checking this post out 🙂 I hear you about the planning stage. We get into that perfection mindset when we should be getting into the success mindset. It’s human nature, I think lol. As they say, “keep on keeping on”! I would say “keep moving to keep succeeding!”

  3. Love this. It’s a great reminder to look back and see what you’ve already accomplished. Taking risks is a great one you’ve mentioned – you can’t move upwards if you just stay in your comfort zone 💙

  4. Just found your website and you have amazing content! I love reading about personal growth and always looking for new articles. You have amazing advice talking about making your goals, just doing it, and taking risks. I’m trying a new method for accomplishing my goals this year and will have to keep this advice in mind!

    1. Hi Julie! Welcome to the Grotto family! I’m glad you enjoyed this week’s article! I love talking about personal growth, self care, meditation, and mindfulness. Those things are a true passion for me. Again, welcome! ❤️
